The performances you see here are live.  There is no overdubbing, no auto accompaniment,  no looping,  no set or predetermined tempo, no sequencing, no footpedals  – nothing playing along.   All parts are played live — with just a pair of drum sticks.

How?

Using Kaleido,  the music application published by PGMusic,  a musician can redefine the capabilities of his or her musical instrument in some simple, yet remarkable ways.

Kaleido allows a musician to “arrange” his or her musical instrument for the specific needs of each individual  composition.

The software works on 3 primary levels.  First, a musician can assign up to 16 different notes and sounds on each pad, key, fret, or valve. Second, the Kaleido Command Factory allows the musician to create and assign simple yet powerful performance commands to each pad, key, fret, or valve.   These commands seamlessly swap instruments, change voicings, transpose and harmonize passages, allow for multi-layered sustain capabilities and much more — all from within the performance — as part of the performance.  Third,  established melodies and chord changes can be played and similarly manipulated within any given performance.

Kaleido gives any musician a sonic  range greater than 10 octaves,  left-handed keyboard/comping technique, multi-layered sustain capabilities, and extends the expressive capabilities of any MIDI enabled device in ways never before seen.
